Benefits: Based on satisfactory academic achievement, the scholarship grant is designed to augment a $35,629 yearly stipend for a maximum of 3.5 years. There are no extensions allowed.


  • Must have been offered full admission to the School of Medicine and Health or be pursuing a full-time doctoral degree there;


  • Applicants who have an unrestricted chance to apply for a PhD at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health, or who are already enrolled in a full-time PhD program in the Faculty of Medicine and Health, are eligible to apply.


  • Candidates must be willing to participate in a collaborative commissioning project to conduct research on health system governance.


  • All overseas applicants must be able to cover the costs of tuition for the whole duration of their PhD study.
    Nominees must have experience with health systems research.
