Mojisola Awesu, a student at the Kwara State College of Health Technology, was discovered dead at a state landfill, and the authorities have now ruled her out.
DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, stated in a statement that the victim was paid N15,000 by her friend to serve as a girlfriend to a young student from a different postsecondary school in the state. In the Aleniboro neighborhood of Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, the person was discovered dead at a waste disposal facility.
According to the statement, on August 12, 2024, a state citizen reported to the police that some workers at the waste disposal site had discovered a dead body.
The person was first recognized as Awasu before the body was placed in the mortuary. Police responded to the information, sent a team, and the body was found. She said that there had been a complaint of a missing individual to the police.
The report was written by a Miss Blessing. Mojisola Awesu was the victim’s name given by the reporter. The woman reportedly left her house to go to a birthday celebration that some pupils from a nearby private school had planned.
The victim received an invitation to a party hosted by students from Summit University and Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin on August 9th, according to the PPRO, who went on to describe the incident in further detail.
It was claimed that the victim was introduced to Mr. Adebayo Happiness, a student at Summit University, who had urged the victim to serve as his girlfriend for N15,0000, before she arrived at the venne and felt uneasy in the surroundings.
Miss Blessing took the call and reported the situation to the police. It was her final discussion with her before all attempts to contact her were unsuccessful until her body was found to be dead.
The PPRO clarified that the State Criminal Investigation Department in the state capital was questioning some of the suspects who had previously been arrested as part of the police command’s investigation into the murder.
