During his adolescence, Adekunle Gold cultivated a profound fondness and captivation for the realm of music, encountering compositions by King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey on a regular basis.

Subsequently, in 2002, at the tender age of 15, he crafted his inaugural single, Sade, thus demonstratively accomplishing his ambitions.

Adekunle Gold, the proud recipient of a Higher National Diploma in Arts and Design, is a former student of Lagos State Polytechnic in Nigeria.

Since launching his career as a musician in 2010, Adekunle Gold has amassed an impressive catalog of three studio albums and a multitude of singles.

Upon finishing his first composition at the age of 15, he subsequently terminated the collaborative effort with a fellow student that he had established. In 2014, he initiated a personal undertaking.

Furthermore, he amassed extensive social media acclaim and became known as the “King of Photoshop” after skillfully altering and publishing an image that depicted him embracing Tiwa Savage.

His first official single, Sade, was subsequently published on December 19, 2014. Sade was a track that he had personally composed and performed.

The track, which was a cover of “The Story Of My Life” by One Direction, became immensely popular and received a nomination for “Best Alternative Song” at The Headies in 2015. It achieved tremendous success.

Following his subsequent signing with the record label YBNL Nation on March 5, 2015, he issued an additional single entitled “Orente.”

His nomination was accepted for the 2015 City People Entertainment Awards’ Most Promising Act of the YEAR category.

On July 18, 2016, he released the cover and tracklist for his debut album, Gold. A considerable number of the sixteen tracks on the album were co-produced by Masterkraft, Seyikeyz, Oscar, Pheelz, and additional individuals. Three days prior to its designated release date of July 25, 2016, it was rendered accessible.

Notwithstanding the considerable number of unfavorable assessments it received from contemporary music critics, the album accomplished the feat of attaining the #7 rank on the Billboard World Album Chart throughout the week of August 13, 2016.

The aforementioned event occurred after his contract with the record label, YBNL Nation, was terminated, which prompted his separation from the label.

Despite this, he continued and went on to introduce his band, The 79th Element, which derived its name from the atomic number of gold as recorded in the periodic table.

Following this, Unity Bank designated Adekunle Gold as their brand ambassador on January 15, 2018. He issued an additional album, Afro Pop Vol. 1, on August 21, 2020.
