Childhood and Education
Shaydee was born in the ancient city of Kano, Kano State, in the northern region of Nigeria, on September 21, 1987. Shaydee is one of four children, the second of her own. During his childhood, his family relocated from Kano to Lagos.
Lagos State, Nigeria, was where he completed his primary and secondary education prior to relocating to Kogi State for his tertiary education. Following the completion of his IJMB at Kogi State Polytechnic, he transferred to the University of Ilorin in Ilorin, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering.
Shaydee Career
Shaydee and a classmate began harmonizing in high school subsequent to their relocation from Kano to Lagos. Subsequent to signing a recording contract with Cackland Records in 2010, he issued several singles, such as “Hands in the Air” and “Love Me Like U Used 2.” Shaydee appeared as a featured artist on MI’s mixtape Illegal Music II track “Pain” in April 2012.
On June 11, 2012, Shaydee obtained a recording contract through Empire Mates Entertainment, owned by Banky W. This contract significantly contributed to his professional growth. On a regular basis, he is credited with the composition and appearance of tracks that appeared on the 2012 EME compilation album Empire Mates State of Mind.
Shaydee has since worked with Legendary Beatz, Ice Prince, Seyi Shay, Skales, and Cynthia Morgan, among others. Shaydee and Wizkid released the freestyle “Won Gbo Mi,” which was produced by Legendury Beatz, on November 16, 2013. The song “Won Gbo Mi” peaked at the regional music charts of the country, earning praise from music critics and fans equally. The music video’s director, Jassy Generation, arranged for the song to be recorded in Lagos. It debuted on the video-sharing platform YouTube on June 11, 2014.
On September 10, 2014, Shaydee executed an endorsement agreement with Metro Cab, a transportation company headquartered in Nigeria. the song “High,” which Shaydee released on March 18, 2015, earned him a nomination for the 2015 Headies Award. Also nominated for the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards was Shaydee for “Best R&B Artist of the Year.” Shaydee released SOS, his debut studio album, in 2016.
